You must be at least 18 years old to purchase an annual pass online. Children under 18 years of age have free admission to the museum.
All prices in the webshop include VAT.
Selected tickets can be purchased online. Purchased tickets are only valid for the selected date and time period.
Once the purchase of tickets is completed, you will receive two emails: one email with a receipt for the purchase and another email containing a link to download the purchased tickets.
Purchased tickets will be available at least until the validity period ends.
Tickets must be presented at the museum entrance, either electronically on a smartphone or tablet or printed on paper.
When you purchase an annual pass on Den Gamle By’s website, you will receive a receipt/confirmation via email. The annual pass is valid for one year from the date of purchase. The receipt also serves as a temporary annual pass.
Your new membership number is stated on the confirmation. You can collect the final annual pass during your next visit to Den Gamle By. Please note that the card will not be sent by mail.
To receive the final annual pass, you must visit the reception at Den Gamle By and provide your membership number (as stated in the confirmation email).
The confirmation is valid as a temporary annual pass until it is exchanged for a final annual pass. Please remember to collect your final pass before leaving the museum and before the museum closes. Note that benefits from Den Gamle By’s partners can only be granted upon presentation of the final annual pass.
When renewing an annual pass, its validity is extended by one year from the current expiration date.
Free admission to Den Gamle By is only granted upon presentation of a valid annual pass. Likewise, membership benefits and discounts are only available upon presenting a valid annual pass. Please note that the annual pass is personal. Identification must be presented along with the pass. If a valid annual pass cannot be presented, the pass holder must pay the regular entrance fee, which is non-refundable. Benefits and discounts cannot be granted without a valid annual pass. A temporary pass in the form of a receipt cannot be used for membership benefits. It is the buyer’s responsibility to document their age at the time of purchase.
Misuse of the annual pass will result in suspension. A suspended annual pass will not be reinstated.
When purchasing a gift card on Den Gamle By’s website, you will receive an email with a receipt/confirmation of your purchase, as well as an email with the actual gift card.
The gift card is valid for three years from the date of issue and can be redeemed at all of Den Gamle By’s fixed sales points.
All conditions comply with the Danish Limitation Act § 3 (general limitation periods) and the Payment Act § 96 (issuance and redemption of electronic money).
If a gift card is lost, we can retrieve it, but only if the order number is provided. We therefore recommend keeping the purchase receipt.
The confirmation/receipt will be sent to the provided email address shortly after we have registered your purchase—normally within 10 minutes. Den Gamle By is not responsible for delivery delays due to technical issues on the customer’s end, the customer’s spam filter, or an incorrectly provided email address.
No fees are charged for sending the confirmation.
If you have not received the confirmation email within 10 minutes, please check your spam, promotions, or junk email folders. If you still cannot find it, please contact Den Gamle By as soon as possible (see contact information at the bottom of this page).
For annual pass purchases, the amount is debited as soon as the transaction is completed. In some cases, the amount may be reserved on your account until it is withdrawn. This reservation may last up to 30 days.
For annual passes, the receipt is valid as a temporary annual pass until you collect your final pass at Den Gamle By.
When renewing, the annual pass validity is extended by one year from the expiration date as soon as the transaction is completed.
Payments can be made with common Danish and international payment cards.
Accepted cards: MasterCard, Visa, Visa Electron, DK-card.
Credit card transactions are fully encrypted, facilitated by epay.dk. Your transaction details will not be shared with other organizations or companies.
For some cards, Den Gamle By pays a fee to the card acquirer for processing transactions. For online purchases, these fees are not passed on to the cardholder but are covered by Den Gamle By.
Annual passes and tickets are not covered by the right of withdrawal under the Danish Consumer Agreement Act (§ 17(2) cf. § 9(2), no. 2a) and are therefore non-refundable. Exceptions include cases of incorrect names, duplicate purchases, or other special circumstances. Please contact Den Gamle By if you need assistance or if an error occurred during the purchase.
If you wish to file a complaint about a product from Den Gamle By’s webshop, you can contact Den Gamle By directly. You may also file a complaint with the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority’s Center for Complaint Resolution at Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby (www.forbrug.dk).
If you are a consumer residing in another EU country, you can submit your complaint via the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform: http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/. When submitting a complaint, please provide the email address: mail@dengamleby.dk.

Data Controller: Den Gamle By
When shopping on the webshop, Den Gamle By registers the necessary information required to deliver the purchased goods. Data related to the purchase of goods is stored for a maximum period allowed under the Accounting Act.
If you have purchased an annual pass, we store the information necessary to identify you as the rightful cardholder in our system. These details are retained for at least as long as you have a valid annual pass for Den Gamle By. Once access expires, the data is deleted no later than two years after expiration. During this period, you can renew your annual pass without re-submitting the information.
